Baixo o lema "Educación, Investigación e Cultura de Paz" celbrase en Santiago de Compostela o Foro Mundial da Educación temático (FMEt) sobre Educación, Investigación e Cultura de Paz, entre los días 10 e 13 de Diciembre de 2010, sobre a base da Carta de Principios do Foro Social Mundial (FSM), con actividades autoxestionadas por organizacións e movementos sociais de todo o mundo.
É a primeira vez que o Foro Mundial de Educación chega a Europa, coincidindo ademais co 10º aniversario do Foro Social Mundial.
O Foro Mundial de Educación Investigación e Cultura de Paz é un evento enmarcado baixo o paraugas do Foro 2010, un gran contedor de eventos e actividades a nivel mundial ao redor da Cultura da Paz. É unha iniciativa promovida orixinalmente polo Seminario Galego de Educación para a Paz e pola Fundación Cultura de Paz que conta, desde o seu inicio, co apoio de gran número de organizacións sociais, así como do Consello Internacional do Foro Mundial de Educación. Apoiando a iniciativa existe un Comité de Honra, un Comité Organizador de entidades peninsulares e un Subcomité local galego.
